"Sales reporting is much faster. In a nutshell, we have shaved off two days from our total system time-from the receipt of stock to
the display of the items in our stores. We are able to serve our customers better"
The needs of an apparel retailer for their technology are very specific. The product you select needs to handle aspects of your business
like the GRID or Matrix features for sizes and colors, especially if you need different pricing or costing across the grid. It needs to
provide the ability to handle size scales and colors, to track sell thru percentage, and to view data by style as well as by item. But most
important is to select a partner that understands apparel retailing.
Case Study: Apparel Store:
The store opened its doors in 1981 and grown to one of the most well-known apparel retailers in Asia Pacific, with over 980 stores in 26
territories.
They used a local software for their front end that was working in tandem with cash registers. The cash register issued receipts while
the computer program tallied the day's sales for store replenishment purposes. Inventory at store level was maintained through the use of
stock cards and ledgers.
At the back end, they used a software that was developed in Hong Kong and was useful during the first 5 years of the company's operation,
but due to the increase in business and the increase in the amount of data, errors started to happen.
The company installed Retail Pro for POS and inventory management, which sped up all their business functions. Central warehouse deliveries
are easily scanned into Retail Pro so stocks can be readily dispatched to the shops. Inventory look-ups are accurate which makes
consolidation of broken sizes much easier.
"One of the most useful features that Retail Pro has is the comprehensiveness of its reporting functions, from sales and inventory for
an individual store all the way up to the chain level. With the new ease of obtaining information, we are now able to move faster and
better serve the needs of our customers."
